The username defined at the time of the attempt was "fetepe" with the same password.
I enabled logging while attempting a connection and extracted the part when attempting to connect. I considered anonymous logon to FTP server, but the router doesn't allow such connections, thus this can be an area to check.
I also checked with a free public FTP and could connect from Android VLC, thus the app can connect to certain servers. When attempting to connect directly from VLC on Android, both my phone and TV Box, it keeps asking for the password, as if the credentials are incorrect, still I made them as easy as possible and took good care to type everything correctly. I also tested with Total Commander from my phone and could also connect to the FTP server, thus one of the Android devices can access it. I tested the FTP connection on my PC and can successfully connect, thus the connection works.
In the router's USB port I inserted an external HDD. The FTP server runs on my Huawei HG8247H router (the device provided by my ISP). I tried on two Android devices - a Xiaomi TV Box 4S and my phone, Xiaomi Mi A3. I'm trying to add a FTP connection in VLC.
