In Calc you can have more than one sheet in a spreadsheet. Formulas and functions allow us to enter calculations into a cell based on the values of other cells.
In the Formula bar there are buttons for inserting functions into a cell. Next to the Name Box is the Formula Bar that displays the formula or just the contents of a cell. The active cell is the one we have selected each time using the mouse or keyboard. The name of each cell is formed by the letter of the column and its line number. The name of the active cell is displayed in the Name box. The row headers use a numerical character starting at 1 and go down. The column headers use an alphabet character starting at A and go on to the right. At the top of the columns and the left end of the rows are a series of header boxes containing letters and numbers. Each cell is defined by the intersection of one column and one row in the spreadsheet. The main section of the workspace in Calc displays the cells in the form of a grid. The Menu bar, toolbars, Sidebar and Status bar have similar functionality with other LibreOffice components. When Calc is started, the main window opens and the various parts are shown in the image below. In Calc, each sheet can have a maximum of 1,048,576 rows and a maximum of 1024 columns. Each cell can contain data in the form of text, numbers or formulas. Each spreadsheet can have many sheets, and each sheet has a large number of individual cells. A particular cell is identified by its row number and column letter (for example cell B8). A spreadsheet consist of a number of individual sheets, each sheet containing cells arranged in rows and columns. In Calc you create files that are called spreadsheets. It won’t work with Microsoft document formats such as DOC, DOCX etc.FVaTXPAZCIc Spreadsheets, sheets, and cells Please note that this trick only works with Open Document formats such as ODF, ODT etc. With a simple trick, you can make LibreOffice remember the last cursor position in a document. It’s not a big deal unless you are working with long documents where it helps to know where you were editing the last time. Make LibreOffice Writer remember your last cursor positionīy default, LibreOffice Writer opens at the beginning of every document. This way your document will show the “read-only” notification but clicking on “Edit document” will allow people to edit the document. You can choose to not set any passwords at this step. Anyone who tries to click ‘Edit document’ option will have to enter the password.
The second password field (under File Sharing Password) is to lock the file from editing. The first password field (under File Encryption Password) is to lock the file from opening altogether (as we saw in the last point).
